Do not miss fellowship: Garden Secrets I
Do not miss fellowship. We were not created to be alone, but for fellowship, with God.
And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden. (Genesis 3:8)
You might be wondering what has the first line got to do with the above verse. Based on the verse above, I believe God and man met every evening, DAILY, in fellowship.
When God made man, he said that man should not be alone. Then he created woman, for man. It not only represents union between a man and woman, Jesus and the Bride of Christ (Spirit-Baptised Church), but also, brothers and sisters coming together in fellowship.
As I read the word of God, the New Testament (NT) section, I look for references in the Old Testament, and go all the way back, to the Garden of Eden. Before sin did it's nasty work, to understand the mind of God.
When we read the NT, we see the first church started in one accord, tarrying for the Holy Spirit in Acts 2. Everyone gathered, to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit as instructed by Jesus.
When we miss fellowship, we stay out of the garden
Many take church casually, either they are religious, or, so lost in the world that they don't see the importance of church in their lives. There are many excuses these days to miss church. For many, church is not equal to the presence of God. Jesus said, where two or more gather in His name, He will be there. The word of God is enough reason for us to not miss church. Many miss the presence of God because of their sinful lifestyle.
Adam stayed away from the presence of God because of his disobedience. God was expecting to see him in the cool of the day. Did God not know where Adam was? Of course He knew. God wanted him to be in his presence nevertheless. A repentant Adam in the presence of God is much better than a hiding Adam.
