Brands make promises.
People make promises.
God makes promises.
A brand promises top quality, longevity, and lifelong customer support. We believe it and buy the product or service, hoping it will keep those promises. Often, the experience is not a great one.
People promise, but there are no guarantees. We are instructed not to put our trust in man.
When God promises, the experience is more than we can ask or think.
Do God's promises matter when life feels like it is going downhill?
When God isn't our life, His promises won't matter.
When God is our life, only His promises will matter.
Here are two promises to remember daily:
GOD IS WITH US
Isaiah 43:1-2 (KJV)
[1] But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. [2] When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
GOD'S LOVE IS FOREVER
Jeremiah 31:3 (KJV)
[3] The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.
God alone can keep us. He created us and formed us through Jesus. He shed His blood to prove His love for us, and also to satisfy us with His presence. His promise is to be with us always, no matter what we go through, because we are His.
His love for us is not limited or temporary. It is forever. The Holy Spirit's indwelling presence empowers our walk every day as we submit to God's will daily.
We are blessed to know the living God and to fellowship with Him. Make the most of it every day.
Maranatha. Praise God, and Amen.
