How To Be A Blessed Subordinate?
Have you noticed this trend in life? In every type of relationship where there is a hierarchy, the one who is taking the orders, or number 2, always feels he can do better than the leader or number 1.
We can observe this trend among most people, if not all types; Father and son. Mother and daughter. Husband. and wife. Manager and subordinate. The younger, lesser experienced, after a point tends to think I can do better than the one who I've been subjected to. This happens even in church where there are two pastors, a senior and an assistant pastor.
What's the point? Eve thought she knew better, and managed to persuade Adam to eat the fruit. Just like she was persuaded by the devil to eat the forbidden fruit.
The natural hierarchy is God given. The spiritual hierarchy is also God given. The rest are based on human terms, ability and intelligence, position and power - this includes a lot of "pastors" who have had formal theological training.
Trust God to be a blessed subordinate
When we learn to trust God to be led by who He has placed then we will see great transformation in life, character-wise and in blessings. God created man upright, but man sought his own. It's not easy to be subject to people you know are weak or less equipped. Yet, when we trust in God, He makes a way to stay in His peace and joy. Just like Adam and Eve enjoyed before the fall.
Joseph proved to be a great subordinate under all his masters. Eventually, he became the greatest number two in Egypt. What was his secret? He fully trusted God. Even the deadly Pharoah believed in him.
“Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward. For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully.”
1 Peter 2:18,19
It's time to live the God given simple life. Offer your praises and prayer with a broken and contrite heart everyday. Maranatha, Praise God and Amen!
