How To Begin Doing The Will Of God?

When we experience the joy of the Lord, our immediate desire is to begin doing the will of God. Most young believers get excited about God and with a great desire want to step out to "do" something for God.

You want to do the will of God?
Then start with being thankful.

In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

1 Thessalonians 5:18

The word of God teaches us to thank God for every thing. EVERY THING! Sorry, did I get too loud? Well, it's important we get this into our system loud and clear.

With what is going on in the world today, we cannot deny how wonderfully God has preserved us. As believers, we are truly enjoying the Eden experience, oblivious to the spirits of sin and evil working around us.

To begin doing the will of God, start with...

I want to share three ways to begin doing the will of God through thanksgiving, every day.

Begin doing the will of God by Thanking God

First, thank Him for who He is. His awesome presence is a gift for us. The fact that we can simply get on our knees or be anywhere and call out to Him is an amazing gift, in Christ Jesus.

Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

Psalms 100:3,4

When we know God and do not thank Him, we end up with vain imaginations and foolishness in our hearts (Romans 1:21).

Be thankful for peace inside of you

Second, be thankful for the peace ruling your heart (Colossians 3:15). Like I mentioned earlier in the post, we have it normal despite the chaos around us because of God's peace. When we spend our time in Christ, He keeps us in His peace.

Be thankful for peace outside, around you

Third, we need to be thankful to God for people in authority in the world who show favour to people of God. While our prayers are answered by God, our gratitude towards God needs to reflect in the language and tone we use in our daily conversations. What language? What tone? Stop speaking against even cruel leaders. No one can run a government without God's permission!

I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

1 timothy 2:1-4

A heart that is full of gratitude will also be transformed into one with a godly attitude. When we are truly grateful, our lives will pour out with gratitude in every area of life.

When we start with being thankful, God enables other areas in our lives where we can do His will. Stay focused on doing God’s will as you prepare for His soon coming. Maranatha, Praise God and Amen.
