How to stay on track when you feel useless?

"I don't know what to do. I don't know what God wants from me. Everyone around me is doing well, except me."

Most youth often find themselves in this position spiritually at some point in life. One of the deadliest attacks of the devil is getting people to draw comparisons. Comparison steals the revelation you received about your preciousness when you accepted Jesus as your personal Saviour. The moment we forget how much we are loved, we begin to compare and lose our grip on the reality of this life in Christ.

The word of God reminds us that the poor man called out to God, and He delivered him out of all his troubles. (Psalms 34:6)

This child of God who made this statement had lost his spiritual zeal. He felt spiritually dry and that God has stopped speaking through visions. Did he lack any material things in life? No. He has a job, has time for church, and does everything a typical believer does, outwardly.

How to stay on track when everything seems off and you feel useless?

Where is the problem? One problem is the lack of praise and thanksgiving to God.

Who is a poor man? He is poor in spirit. He is full of praise and thanksgiving to God daily. If you are full of other spirits like worrying or complaining, you will get wearied in your spiritual walk. You cannot pray the prayer of faith.

To know what God wants from you, keep the following in mind.

  1. Be patient in prayer
  2. Stop comparing yourself with anyone
  3. Empty yourSELF and be filled with gratitude
  4. Pray for those suffering in the world
  5. Cry for the salvation of souls

When you pour with gratitude and praise for God, your heart fills with the joy of the Lord. The joy of the Lord is your strength. Use the power He has given you to do His perfect will. The rest will follow according to His perfect plan.

Maranatha, Praise God, and Amen.
