One Reason Why Believers are Unable To Grow In Faith

There are many reasons why we are unable to grow in faith. But, there is one problem that is common among all believers.

When we are born again, we are introduced to a wonderful hope. A hope that is ignited by the amazing love of God. We could never have imagined such a beautiful future, had it not been for Jesus opening our eyes. Choosing us for a life everlasting full of peace and joy (John 15:16)

Still, we fail and fall, throw a fit and name call. We end up behaving the same way before we knew Christ. The old man or nature feels so easy to put on, unlike the new man in Christ Jesus.

Paul writing to the Corinthians talks about how he could not deal with them as spiritual because they were still living a carnal lifestyle (1 Corinthians 3:1-8). There was jealousy, fights and divisions among the believers in Corinth.

And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men? (1 Corinthians 3:1-3)

The one reason you are unable to grow in faith

For God to fill us with nutrients and protein for our growth, we need to be first emptied and uprooted off all these evil natures and besetting sins. We grow with every step of faith. One of the worst problems is hosting unforgiving natures in our hearts. These are not mere feelings, but powerful forces of wickedness that are destroying what God is planting in our hearts.

God desires to fill us with His glorious presence now because we are the temple of God. What seeds we allow to grow in us depends on our humility, not our ability. If there are two things we need to remind ourselves every time we start a new day, it is learning humility and lowliness of heart from Jesus alone (Matthew 11:29).

Prepare yourself to meet Jesus. He is coming soon. Praise God and Amen.
