How to catch a fox in the wilderness of life?

Do you know how to catch a fox? Foxes mark their surroundings with unpleasant scent and droppings. Some believers cannot be approached because they have a disturbed spirit. Come any close, speak from the word of God and you will see them getting uncomfortable and angry. The devil messes their brains with lies and false fears. Foxes also raid waste bins; there are believers who will make a non issue a big one. A contained problem turns into an unnecessary mess.

The house of God is the first place where we endeavour to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Yet, it’s the hardest place to be in peace for many believers. Little foxes 🦊 are always around trying to destroy the harvest.

Who are these little foxes? Those who walk in their own spirit and have seen nothing. They live in their own well (dug themselves a hole) and hardly have the vision of the larger world they are in.

God calls false prophets among us as foxes in the deserts.

Thus saith the Lord God; Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing! O Israel, thy prophets are like the foxes in the deserts. Ye have not gone up into the gaps, neither made up the hedge for the house of Israel to stand in the battle in the day of the Lord. They have seen vanity and lying divination, saying, The Lord saith: and the Lord hath not sent them: and they have made others to hope that they would confirm the word. (Ezekiel 13:3-6)

What are the qualities of these false prophets?

  1. Follow their own spirit: spiritually proud and living for their own pleasures
  2. not gone into the gaps: no lifestyle of praying for the flock
  3. neither made a hedge, during battle: No prayer protection during times of trials or temptations
  4. vain and lying prophecies: false teachings for their own gain

The only way to catch a fox

To identify these foxes among us we need to be diligent in our walk with God. A patient approach, in lowliness and meekness of heart under God’s eyes. While little foxes around you may fail to see your godly motives, don’t stop to live the word of God daily. Maranatha, praise God and amen!
