How To Not Be Shy And Speak Out In Public?

Many we perceive as “shy” or "introvert" is often exposed on social media. Remember in school when you felt a certain friend was not really who he displayed himself to be. Specially those quiet, and timid ones who you often feel protective about sometimes too. Well, today, social media has provoked their true natures despite how they present themselves in public, offline.

We have some such young believers getting aggressive online, triggered by constant dose of negativity because of news and social commentary among friends on these platforms. Slandering other religions and speaking against groups and people don’t help anyone. It’s what non believers do naturally. There are more people talking rubbish today than ever before; how many are you going to call out? Do you as a believer have so much time? How are you building your walk with God?

For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control]. 2 Timothy 1:7

How to be Shy?

Being shy should be about staying away from acting out carnally. Jesus spent His ministry doing the will of the Father, not what He felt like doing. When He got provoked He would settle the matter then and there; not speaking out loosely in public. SO many christians are too busy trying to bring their fellow believers down instead of focused on living the life God has called us into.

We are called to glorify God, not put others down. We are called to draw others to the hope in Christ. What do non believers need? They need peace and joy; how can they know it exists? Only when believers reflect Christ daily in their walk everywhere, offline and online.

Be ready, Jesus is coming soon. Praise God and Amen!
