Love is about God not self praise

Love is about God, delighting in Him, desiring Him alone. The desire to please ALL fights daily against the desire to please God. What we choose everyday reveals our Christianity. Our carnality or spirituality is evident by the fruits.

“A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.” Matthew‬ ‭7:18-20‬ ‭

What the fruit or fruits need to be is revealed in God’s word.

Love is about God alone

Moses had much to brag about because he grew up in Pharaoh's house. He had access to the latest knowledge, physical arts, and material wealth. He lived with the wealthiest man of the country. Yet, he gave it all up esteeming the reproach to be a better way of life on this earth.

“By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter; choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭11:24-26‬ ‭

Paul the apostle gave up his everything to preach the gospel of Christ. He lacked nothing from a worldly standpoint. He was popular and considered an important person persecuting Christians. His complete transformation led him to leave all for Christ. Denying self.

Apollos and Priscilla invested their time and resources for the Lord. They were a business couple who took risks that today’s business men cannot dream of!

“Greet Priscilla and Aquila my helpers in Christ Jesus: who have for my life laid down their own necks: unto whom not only I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles. Likewise greet the church that is in their house. ...” Romans‬ ‭16:3-5‬ ‭

It’s our time now to bring Jesus to the world. It’s our turn to bring the world around us to Jesus.
