The 4th Watch!

And he saw them toiling in rowing; for the wind was contrary unto them: and about the fourth watch of the night he cometh unto them, walking upon the sea, and would have passed by them. Mark‬ ‭6:48

Going through the Scriptures we can understand, the time frame in the Bible has been divided into four parts, namely, the first, second, third and the fourth watch. Each watch has it’s own significance and also records of the major events that occurred during its own time. However in this post I want to share with you the importance of the FOURTH WATCH.

The Fourth Watch refers to the early morning time period. We can also call it as the “pre-Dawn to Dawn” time frame. During this time, the disciples were out in the sea, working hard for a big catch. Things weren’t in their favour, maybe they were not even thinking about their Master, but that’s when they saw JESUS walking on the waters.

Mary Magdalene ran to the tomb of Jesus on the third day, without being afraid of the darkness during the early morning time nor reproaches of people (that her intentions weren’t good). Normally no woman would wake up so early to visit a tomb; but this one did — to see her Master who had promised that He would rise up from the dead!! As promised, the Resurrected Jesus revealed Himself first to Mary Magdalene before anyone else.

God’s love should constrain us as well in such a way that we would also run after Him seeking His love. Such people won’t have any fear because the perfect love of Jesus will cast out every other fear. We should be people of the Fourth Watch desiring only to seek God. May God help us.

Be blessed 💕
