Choose Humility Over Pride
The sinful heart craves attention and recognition. The workplace is filled with people desperate for credit. They want to be known for the work they do. At a basic level it's acceptable in the workplace - justify their contributions and value. But some crave recognition at another’s cost.
At church, we do all things knowing that God knows it all. There is no need to project yourself or seek attention. Yet, we see these natures prevalent in churches too.
Some believers desire positions in the church
Some expect special attention from leaders because they tithe regularly a high amount
Some desire preaching opportunities to receive praise from fellow believers
Some prefer their little group because they sound most spiritual among them
Some stick to carnal churches that do not teach the pure word because they feel superior to the others
Some remain in churches that do not warn them about their true spiritual state so they can live as worldly as possible
Some do not want to give up their societal status and choose to remain with carnal believers
Moses had much reason to be proud, having lived in ultimate wealth and power. But gave up every earthly pleasure.
Ruth came from a rich family, but chose to suffer with the people of God.
Esther remained humble despite becoming Queen. She did the will of God.
The fact that we can choose is a blessing. Choose to be humble rather than proud. Choose to honour God with your heart. He sees all.
Maranatha, Praise God, and Amen.
