Pride Is A Dangerous State Of Being

Pride is a terrible disease. It is the root of all sin and spiritual decay.

PROUD IN THE BIBLE

• King Herod loved himself. He thought he was God.

• King Nebuchadnezzar desired that people worship him.

• Pharaoh considered himself to be God.

• Lucifer wanted to take over God's throne.

PRIDE OF LIFE

The pride of life can creep into any area of life. Those who examine their lives daily in prayer and Word alone can identify it in them.

One of the things of this world is the pride of life (1 John 2:15-17). There's no love in those who are bound by the pride of life.

The older we grow, the deeper we discover deeper shades of pride. God gives grace to those who come to Him in prayer to overcome the pride of life.

SPIRITUAL PRIDE

Apostle Paul had a sickness that kept him humble because of his many revelations. It did not hinder his ministry, but kept him reminded of his fallibility.

Apostle Peter's pride was kept in check by Paul, when Peter came under pressure from the Jews to circumcise Gentiles.

We are challenged daily by prideful thoughts, words and actions. Waking up early to pray helps us examine our state and humble ourselves.

Dear young believer, seek the kingdom of God and His righteousness. The Holy Spirit alone will keep us rooted and grounded in Christ, the epitome of humility.
