Darkness As A Light Is Deep Darkness
Make sure you haven't convinced yourself into a lie.
Is it possible to convince yourself into living a lie? Yes, indeed! We can go years without truly examining ourselves in the light of God's Word, only to discover we have simply been doing our own will rather than God's.
Matthew 6:22-23 NLT
[22] "Your eye is like a lamp that provides light for your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is filled with light. [23] But when your eye is unhealthy, your whole body is filled with darkness. And if the light you think you have is actually darkness, how deep that darkness is!"
Even children born in the church — despite being saved and having received the Holy Spirit early in life — can take years to truly grasp the gospel. Instead, we live ritualistic lives, pleasing ourselves and others rather than God.
Until we view our lives through the lens of His Word, we live in darkness.
Some believers often ask serious believers, "Why do you have to bring Christ into everything?" The truth is, Christ is our life. Whatever we do, we do it unto Him — be it relationships at home, at church, at work, or anywhere else, including online. Christ brought us a new life that revolves around Him, and it is about His glory, not ours.
As we draw closer to the coming of Jesus, many are losing their faith. The pride of life and various lusts are overwhelming spiritual lives. A believer and a non-believer living for the same things — this is a terrible truth that is becoming increasingly hard to accept. Yet at the same time, there are believers losing their lives, homes, and families for Jesus.
Jesus took our sins and sicknesses to the cross. He brought us a victory we could never achieve on our own. Look up, dear child of God — your redemption is drawing near.
Let us come together in prayer and praise. Let us lift the only name that matters higher than every other name, and share the truth of Christ with everyone we can.
Maranatha, Praise God, and Amen.
