How Does Grace Operate in a Believer’s Life?

It’s all grace, but how does it work?

Here are five instances that give us a glimpse of God’s amazing grace at work.

1. Grace Gives Strength (2 Corinthians 12:9)

Paul was suffering with a physical problem. He prayed for it three times but did not receive complete healing. Jesus responded that His grace was sufficient to see him through the infirmity.

2. Grace Provides Protection (Job 1:10; 2:6)

Job received God’s testimony of being a perfect man. Despite being a good example, he suffered much material, financial, and personal loss. Satan attempted to destroy and kill him, but God protected him.

3. Grace Does More Than We Can Ask or Think (Acts 16:16–34)

Paul and Silas were beaten and chained in prison for doing the will of God. At midnight, despite being imprisoned and unaware of the future, they knew one thing — God still deserves glory — so they sang and praised Him. The result? The earth shook, and the prison doors broke open. They could have walked out free, but they remained. The jailer, thinking they had fled, was about to kill himself — but they called out and saved his life. Not only that, the jailer took them home, washed their wounds, and fed them. Paul and Silas preached the gospel, and the whole household got saved.

4. Grace Produces Thanksgiving (2 Corinthians 9:11)

The day we got saved was the day grace entered our lives and we realized life was worth living. Grace produced thanksgiving in us. As we thank God daily, grace abounds further. Stay thankful.

5. Grace Produces Godly Natures (Matthew 11:28–30)

Jesus, full of grace (John 1:14), calls all who are burdened and heavy-laden to come to Him and receive rest, and to learn humility and lowliness of heart. Every godly nature begins with emptying ourselves so we can be filled with the character of Christ, through the Holy Spirit.

Dear child of God, all godly things are possible through Christ. He chose you. He started a work in you. He will finish it — faithfully.

Maranatha. Praise God. Amen.
