How To Be A Blessing For God’s Glory?

The ground was cursed because of Adam. Adam disobeyed God’s word and ate the forbidden fruit, becoming a curse to others (Genesis 3:17).

Genesis 20:3 — God said to Abimelech, “You are a dead man for taking Sarah for yourself; she is Abraham’s wife.” We need to be a blessing to others — a source of life, not death.

Genesis 26:24 — God blessed and multiplied Isaac for Abraham’s sake. By the time God spoke to Isaac, Abraham had already passed away. Jesus took our curse; today, because of Jesus, we are a blessing.

What Do We Need to Be a Blessing?

Faith

Abraham represents faith. When Jesus comes, will He find faith?

2 Thessalonians 3:2 — “That we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men, for all do not have faith.”

What does God want to see within us? 2 Timothy 1:5 — Paul writes to Timothy, remembering his unfeigned faith — first found in his grandmother Lois, and his mother Eunice. Heaven must see the faith of Christ proclaimed in us. Faith brings blessings.

Prayer Life

Genesis 30:27 — Laban realized he was blessed because of Jacob and asked Jacob to stay with his family. Jacob was a deceiver, but here he represents prayer.

Romans 15:30 — Strive in prayer, as Jacob strove in his labor.

Colossians 4:12 — Epaphras was a fervent prayer warrior, praying that all might do the whole will of God. Prayer brings blessings and removes curses.

Covenant

2 Samuel 6:11–12 — The Ark of the Lord remained in Obed-Edom’s house, and he was blessed. The Ark represents the covenant we have made with the Lord: determination, consecration, dedication.

Dear saint, what do you desire? Do you want Christ glorified in and through your life? As Christ was a blessing, desire more of Christ in your life. Submit to His whole will.
