How to Keep the Peace of God?

We underestimate the corruption of sin in us and find ourselves losing our peace. Some carry such deep, unconfessed anger and bitterness that they end up isolating themselves in frustration.

What keeps us? God’s peace. But how do we keep the peace that keeps us?

Five Ways to Keep the Peace of God

(Philippians 4:4–9)

  1. Rejoice: Receive and keep peace through fellowship with God, in His presence.

  2. Walk in moderation: Let the Spirit of God guide your ways.

  3. Stop worrying: Seek God through prayer, supplication, and thanksgiving — for yourself and for others.

  4. Guard your thoughts: Think on things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report, virtuous, and worthy of praise.

  5. Put it into practice: Whatever you have learned, received, heard, and seen in exemplary saints — do it.

Is this doable? Indeed it is! It requires faith. It requires surrender to God’s Word. It requires a serious look at the cross with an intention to understand God’s love.

What happens next will blow your mind. The Holy Spirit will move and refresh you in ways only He can.

Take that step, dear saint. God will keep you in His peace and love.

Maranatha. Praise God. Amen.
