Patience Is Key When Dealing With Children

Don't be too harsh with children and youth. Let disciplining be in moderation and be led by the Holy Spirit. Easier said than done. Every good work requires time, attention and care.

Moses' testimony was that he was faithful (Hebrews 3:2), even though he disobeyed God after 80. David was a good Shepherd boy, but sinned greatly during his 60s. King David also received a good testimony from God.

Remember, God spoke to Moses directly and guided him. King David walked in God's favour.

At the peak of their godly endeavours, we see they committed punishable crimes against God.

Yet God received their plea for mercy. Honoured them with His rest and peace.

Everyone will need to go through their journey. Our job is not to convert anyone, but to guide and care for them when they are broken.

God's love brings a life perspective.

Teach children and youth to,

  1. pray repentantly

  2. meditate on God's word

  3. remain focused during the fellowship

  4. see God as Father, friend and guide

  5. Lead by example. Christ in you is the best gift anyone can give their children or church

  6. Admit mistakes, tell the truth, point to Christ's finished work

  7. reveal the law, practice grace

Everyone falls sometimes or the other. Learn to lift one another up. The children are watching. Get to work - there's lots to do.

Maranatha, Praise God, and Amen.
