Stop Expecting Special Treatment
Some saints live entitled lives. As if they deserve good. As if they deserve special privileges or treatment.
Why do we think we deserve anything good? Why do we desire positions or honour in this life?
It's because, like non-believers, we think we are good. Many feel that they should become youth leader or Sunday School teachers. When some get a position, they act out a false humility. Hypocrisy becomes a lifestyle.
The sinful don't believe they are inherently sinful. They think there are good people on earth. They also feel they are mostly good. So they seek their own. They feel they deserve their promotion because they worked so hard, proved themselves, etc. Some, especially the young, feel that they deserve high salaries, promotions, the right to do whatever they think is right, etc.
Jesus said, there is no one good but God. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. We deserved hell. Eternal darkness. But we were delivered and brought into this marvellous light - are we living humbly? With gratitude towards God? In praise and glory to Him alone? Always ready to serve Him? Loving others as Jesus loves us?
Job's wife wanted him to curse God and die. Like she deserved a better life than what was given. Job rightfully called her foolish. Job did not expect any special treatment in life. He glorified God no matter what.
Wicked Queen Jezebel thought she deserved to have Naboth's vineyard and killed him for it.
Foolish and wicked spirits daily attack believers. Only those who pray sincerely and meditate on the Word remain in true humility - the work of the Holy Spirit in our life.
Many saints compare their lives with non-believers and think if they are blessed on earth why can't I be blessed on earth too? Because of such thinking many lose their spiritual connection with God. Spiritual disconnect makes room for sin and a fear of death. They forget the end of the wicked is eternal damnation (Psalms 73).
Dear saint, God who is good loves you. He desires the best for you. Give your heart to Him and you will discover the best life now.
Maranatha Praise God, and Amen.
