Be Like Isaac
Isaac was 25 and he did not hesitate to give his life for God. He knew that his life was about to be taken. But he did not rebel or run away from Abraham who was about to sacrifice him. He had asked his father, 'Where is the sacrifice?' and the only reply he got was God will provide. He was not expecting to be sacrificed in place of a sheep offering.
He had lived 25 years on earth and had many, many years ahead of him. He did not care about losing his life for the sake of God. He was willing to give up his career, dreams, desires, pleasures, personal pride, etc. for the glory of God.
Isaac had faith that most believers today neither understand nor desire to have.
Can believers today have such faith? Yes.
How is it possible? Through the power of resurrection working in you.
OT testimonies look like an impossible feat. Jesus died on the cross and gave us victory so we too can enjoy such faith and grow into the greater perfection of Christ. Our lives are not to be compared, but to reflect on so we can see the awesome nature of God working in His children who submit to God's Word.
Jesus had no strength or power of His own as a human. He fully trusted in God and became our deliverance from sin, sickness and fear of death.
Isaac did not fear death. Like Paul, he was willing to live or die for Christ (Philippians 1:21).
You are the promised child. You are God's promise to the world around you. Be a light. Be like Isaac. Like Jesus, who overcame all so we can enter into an eternity today. Give room for the power of resurrection to work in you. The end is here.
Maranatha, Praise God, and Amen.
