The Power Of Thanks

Without Jesus, our minds were bound and our hearts were deep in darkness. There was no way out. It was impossible for us to live godly lives — until God opened our eyes to His truth.

With Christ, we have peace amidst dark times. We shine brighter when darkness surrounds us.

WHAT CAUSES SPIRITUAL BREAKDOWN AND WEAR?

Why do we struggle to grow? (Ephesians 5:3-4)

  • Sexual immorality — pornography, fleshly pleasures, etc.

  • Impurity — being mixed with worldly culture

  • Greed — comparing, idolising, etc.

Such sins have no place among God's people, yet these are most commonly found among us.

A few others we take for granted, but are equally destructive:

  • Obscene stories

  • Foolish talk

  • Coarse jokes

Instead, let there be thankfulness to God.

THANKFULNESS DESTROYS SINFUL NATURES

Thankfulness is an overflow. We thank someone because of what they have done for us. When our hearts are filled with gratitude, there is no room for sin to take root.

What are we, as children of God, thankful for?

  • The precious blood of Jesus that saved us from hell, washes our sins, and heals sickness.

  • The living Word of God that purifies us as we meditate on it daily.

  • The anointing of the Holy Spirit that gives us the ability to pray and live inspired and motivated for the glory of God.

What else are you thankful for? There is so much more than words can express.

Bless the Lord, dear saint. Stick with Jesus and let His love strengthen us daily until the end.
