What Is A Blessed Death?
A believer passed away while doing some work in the church. During the funeral service, a minister testified that it was a great honour for that believer to have died in the church. He also said, as ministers they die in the church, so for a believer to die in the church is rare and a great blessing. As if dying anywhere else is a small blessing.
This is a lie from the pits of hell. This is Pharisee teaching that honours outward beauty rather than inward state.
It glorifies the literal temple of God rather than the temple we are as believers, purchased by the blood of Jesus.
WHAT IS A BLESSED DEATH?
Every believer who dies in the faith is blessed because of the precious blood of Jesus.
It does not matter where you die, how you die, when you die, as long as you've died believing Jesus as Lord and Saviour.
"Everyone was present when she died," we hear often. It means nothing if the person did not die in the faith.
Jesus and the apostles all died terrible deaths. Even today believers are killed in prison, during persecution, etc. The first NT martyr, Stephen, was stoned to death.
Beware of the Pharaisical leaven of hypocrisy. The Pharisees loved outwardly. They were dead inwardly. (Matthew 23)
Everything the religious leaders during Jesus' time did was for show (Matthew 23:5-7). They love reputation, positions, clothing, rituals, etc.
They loved the gold in the temple rather than God for whom the temple existed (Matthew 23:17). Jesus called them blind fools.
Dear beloved of Jesus, let us repent from hypocritical ways. God loves the humble and resists the proud. Prepare yourself to meet Jesus.
Maranatha, Praise God, and Amen.
