Why Is Faith Necessary?

Key Verse: 1 Corinthians 10:13

“The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.”

Let Faith Grow During Trials

Abraham grew stronger in faith, despite the tests in his life. Abraham walked in the fear of God (Genesis 22:1, 12).

Better is the end than the beginning (Ecclesiastes 7:8). God allowed Satan to test Job as much as possible without taking his life (Job 2:6). His wife lost her faith, but he remained faithful till the end. His end was better than the beginning.

You Will Be Tested

Don’t say you are tempted by God (James 1:13). Jesus was led by the Holy Spirit to be tempted by the devil (Matthew 4:1). All who want to pursue the righteousness of Christ will be tested. Jesus was tempted at all points and will help all who rest in Him (Hebrews 2:17, 18). To be the cornerstone, Jesus was tested (Psalm 118:22). He was rejected on earth by all, only to become the highest in Heaven.

Faith Glorifies God

Faith that lasts during trials brings God’s glory, honour and praise when Jesus appears (1 Peter 1:7).

Faith Stands in Love

Nothing can separate us from the love of God (Romans 8:35). Nehemiah did not run from trials; instead, he stood against opposition with God’s help. Job never lost hope (Job 19:25).

Are you going through fire, dear child of God? Remember, Jesus is with you in the fire like He was with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.

Maranatha, praise God, and amen.
