What Does It Mean Jesus Is Life?

What does “Jesus is life” mean?

We were dead in our sins and trespasses. Jesus died and rose again to give us life (Ephesians 2:1–10). We no longer walk under the rule of sin or darkness, but are delivered into a marvelous light in Christ Jesus. Jesus is the light of life (John 1:4).

We are no longer carnally minded, but spiritually minded (Romans 8:6) — full of life and peace.

THE BREAD OF LIFE (John 6:35, 48, 51)

Jesus is the bread of life. We live by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Father (Matthew 4:4). Is the Word of God your tastiest food?

THE TREE OF LIFE (Proverbs 11:30)

Jesus is the vine (John 15:1). We bear fruit when we are the branches of His vine. Without Jesus, we can do nothing (John 15:5). With Jesus, we become trees of life.

THE ABUNDANT LIFE (John 10:10)

Jesus came to give abundant life (Psalms 51:1). His abundant mercies and exceeding abundant grace (1 Timothy 1:14) help us live freely from the dominion of sin and death.

God brought us into a new and living way through the precious blood of Jesus (Hebrews 10:19–20). Let’s run to Him in prayer so He can fill us with His love to live life abundantly.

Maranatha, praise God, and amen.
