Do You Desire to Grow Spiritually?
Do you desire to grow spiritually? Do you feel everything and everyone is against you? Do you get broken and discouraged easily? Evil is unbiased in its attack on humans. Its only aim is complete human destruction. God has called you, dear saint. You are under attack.
With Jesus on your side, no weapon formed against you will prosper. All who rise against you will fall.
Jerusalem Invaded
Jerusalem was a fortified city. It was a well-known, impregnable city in its time. Jerusalem was the city of God — protected and cared for by the Almighty.
"Not a king in all the earth — no one in all the world — would have believed that an enemy could march through the gates of Jerusalem. Yet it happened because of the sins of her prophets and the sins of her priests, who defiled the city by shedding innocent blood." (Lamentations 4:12–13)
When church leaders fail, the flock gets scattered and comes to spiritual ruin. Today, we have plenty to eat, but our spiritual health is sickening. The church is divided and confused about who God is and what He desires. New souls and weak believers are getting crushed by religious hypocrisy and human traditions.
With the Levitical priesthood and animal sacrifices failing to achieve anything good for spiritual growth, God sent Jesus as the perfect sacrifice. Jesus fulfilled the will of God. Before He did, He promised to finish the good work God started in every believer's life.
Invincible New Jerusalem
Jesus said, "I will build the church and the gates of hell will never prevail against it" (Matthew 16:18).
Jesus Is the Head of the Church
The church is the body of Christ. Jesus is the Head of the body of Christ. If Jesus isn't the head of our lives, we remain dead in our sins. Jesus loves us — let us give Him the glory, honour, and power due to Him.
Jesus Will Build the Church
Jesus will build us. How? When we surrender our lives to serve God. Every Christian is called to live for God. When we put on the new man in Christ daily, we get built. The new man is created in holiness and righteousness. We continue to grow when we seek Him in prayer and put our faith in Jesus.
The Gates of Hell Cannot Overcome
No evil natures (Revelation 21:8) can overcome us. They pursue us daily, but cannot overcome us, as long as we remain in Christ.
You are a king and priest in Christ. Follow Jesus through the obedience of faith (Romans 1:5). Seek His glory and honour in your life, not your own. You will find yourself in eternity with Him.
Maranatha, Praise God, and Amen.
