God Shows And Tells
Many believers are still living carnally - fighting, bitter, murmuring, etc. God showed mercy and gave us Jesus, full of grace and truth (John 1:14). But many have only a theoretical understanding of Grace, and not a practical one. Many think grace but live by the law.
John 1:17 - For the Law was given through Moses, but grace [the unearned, undeserved favour of God] and truth came through Jesus Christ.
GRACE = LOVE OF GOD
Abraham had no laws, yet He was called a friend of God. Abraham loved God, he did not need laws to tell him how to live life. Moses introduced the law so Israel could recognise right from wrong. Israel began keeping the laws and never learned to love.
Those who receive God's grace will also find God's truth easy to understand. The first aspect of God's grace is His love. God's truth is His Word. His word is easy (1 John 5:3). Those who receive God's grace have received God's love. They love God and follow His word.
Life is simplest for the Christian. It's easy to understand, and easy to live. But we keep complicating it with overthinking and opinionated reasoning.
SHOW AND TELL
Children learn by watching their parents. No matter the environment, the parents' lifestyle has the greatest impact on them. Parents can make rules, but children learn when we show and tell.
God showed and told in the OT.
Jesus showed and told in the NT.
God gave us the Holy Spirit so Christ can be revealed through our lives.
Jesus, full of grace and truth, dwells in us when we accept Him wholeheartedly. Grace and truth flow out through us when we experience the fellowship of the Father and the Son (1 John 1:3).
All who've accepted God's grace, follow the truth. The truth keeps us free. The freedom helps us enjoy God in this life.
Maranatha, Praise God, and Amen.
