How To Please God?

Are you trying to appease God, or please Him? What's the difference between appeasing and pleasing?

Appeasing: Making concessions to avoid conflict with a person.

Pleasing: Creating happiness through positive actions powered by love for the person.

Are you trying to get God to stop being angry with you because you think He will send down plagues and boulders of fire? Or, are you genuinely in love with Him and set your life apart to seek His heart?

Sadly, many Christians are deceived into thinking that God needs to be appeased rather than pleased.

How To Please God Without Appeasing Him?

What did God say about Jesus? God was well-pleased with Jesus, His beloved Son (Matthew 3:17).

How did Jesus please God? In John 4:34, Jesus reveals His food is to do God’s will. In the following chapters, Jesus says he does not do his own will but the Father’s. Whatever the Father says He does. Jesus did the perfect will of the Father.

Which earthly father will be pleased with a son who does his perfect will? Every single one!

The Heavenly Father gave us Jesus to perfect us in Him. What a glorious work through the cross of Christ!

What do we need for God to be pleased with us? Walk patiently (James 1:4), keep your mind set on Christ (Isaiah 26:3). God makes our way perfect (2 Samuel 22:3) (Psalms 18:32).

God will fulfil His perfect work in us (Psalms 138:8). The word of God is preached so we may be perfected in Christ (Colossians 1:28).

Dear child of God, in Christ you are perfect and pleasing to God. He does not view perfection in the faulty way we do. Christ was pleasing to Him, and we are pleasing to Him in Christ Jesus. Surrender to the Holy Spirit to help you walk in Christ. Prepare to meet God.

Maranatha, Praise God, and Amen.
