The Born-Again Experience
What happens when a believer accepts Jesus as Lord and Saviour?
Here are five initial experiences every true born-again believer experiences.
He no more lives in condemnation (John 3:17). He walks in the new way of life. Free in Christ Jesus. (Romans 8:1,2)
His acceptance of Christ results in walking in truth (John 3:21). This obedience, is accomplished by the Holy Spirit in his life. You will see a constant acknowledgement of God's grace and mercy in his life.
His life reflects the experience of walking with Jesus (Acts 4:15). The Jewish leaders realised that uneducated and untrained men like Peter and John spoke boldly because they walked with Jesus. How well do you know your BFF Jesus?
He realises he cannot but obey God. It's that obvious. It's not only about obedience but also a heart full of joy in the Holy Spirit that speaks of what is seen and heard (Acts 4:19,20). When you love God, prayer and Bible study are a delight. As you receive more inspiration, can you keep it to yourself? Never! You will want to tell those around you - like the Thessaloniki believers who spread the word to Macedonia and Achaia. Idol worshippers turned to true worshippers of the living God.
Like Habakkuk, he will continue to praise and rejoice in God even if it seems like there are no blessings (Habakkuk 3:17,18)
Dear believer, the end is near. Look at Jesus.
