THE HOLY SPIRIT — The Father's Faith in the Spirit's Work in Us

Just as the Father had faith in Jesus to fulfill His will, He has faith in the Holy Spirit to fulfill His work in us.

In the Old Testament, the Spirit of God worked whenever the Father sent His Spirit upon His chosen ones to fulfill His will. We see in Genesis that God declared His Spirit would not strive with man always, because man is flesh. We also see how the Spirit departed from Saul.

Yet for the times ahead, God spoke through the Prophet Joel (Joel 2:28) that He would pour out His Spirit upon all flesh.

Many conservative youth do not value the baptism of the Holy Spirit in their lives. They receive the Holy Spirit at a young age but do not understand the full scope of His presence. They are filled in the Spirit during church service, yet do not respond to the direction of the Holy Spirit after the service.

Today, the Holy Spirit works continuously in Spirit-baptized saints.

7 Things to Know About the Holy Spirit

  1. THE SPIRIT OF FULLNESS - (Ezekiel 37:1–14). He revives us from every dead state when we call out to Him.

  2. THE SPIRIT FOR GENERATIONS - (Isaiah 44:3) — He is not only for us, but for all those we become fathers to in Christ.

  3. THE SPIRIT IS FOREVER - (Isaiah 59:21) — He abides in us forever. He never leaves us, nor do we ever "lose" Him.

  4. THE SPIRIT HELPS US WALK IN GOD'S STATUTES - (Ezekiel 36:27) — He is the Spirit of truth and counsel, helping us to walk in the ways of God.

  5. THE SPIRIT KEEPS US BEFORE THE FACE OF GOD - (Ezekiel 39:29) — As Spirit-baptized sons and daughters, we are always before God. Our every need is supplied through Him.

  6. THE SPIRIT OVERCOMES FEAR - (Haggai 2:5) — He is the Comforter who keeps us in God's peace, sustaining our hope through every storm and trial.

  7. THE SPIRIT DOES ALL THINGS - (Zechariah 4:6) — Everything we achieve spiritually is the work of the Holy Spirit — not by our own strength or power.

Maranatha! Praise God! Amen.
