What Does a Believer's Life Look Like?

When Paul addresses the believers in Thessalonica, he highlights three qualities the believers displayed. (1 Thessalonians 1:3, 6-7)

Three things the Thessalonian believers were known for:

  • Work of faith — believing amidst persecution (v.9)

  • Labour of love — telling others about Jesus, and good works

  • Steadfastness of hope — waiting in prayer for the rapture (v.10)

What Made Them Great Examples?

  • They received the message with joy

  • They suffered persecution for Christ

  • They told others about Jesus while being examples

Dear saint, faith without works is dead. The Thessalonica believers not only stopped idol worship, they continued to tell others about Jesus. Their lives became an example — many souls in Macedonia and Achaia were saved. Paul did not have to preach there initially.

Even though sin is abounding, grace abounds even more. Let us seek to grow in faith. Soon we will meet Jesus.

Maranatha, Praise God, and Amen.
