What Does El Shaddai Mean?
EL SHADDAI — God Almighty
(Job 42:2) — God can do all things.
Abraham was considered a friend of God (James 2:23). The unity of godly brotherhood is pleasant (Psalm 133:1, 3). How is your union with El Shaddai today?
(Romans 4:17) — God can create out of nothing.
WHO IS EL SHADDAI?
All-Sufficient — He gives more than we can ask or think
Almighty God
Mother-like in His comfort
ALL-SUFFICIENT GOD
God gives more than we can ask or think (Ephesians 3:20–21). He says, "Call, and I will answer" (Isaiah 58:9). Stop speaking vanity.
ALMIGHTY GOD — His Works
He stretched out His hand and divided the Red Sea, saying, "Go forward" (Exodus 14:15–16). At the blast of His nostrils, the waters gathered together (Exodus 15:8). I must decrease, and God — who can do all things — must increase in my life.
MOTHER-LIKE GOD
God comforts us as a mother comforts her child (Isaiah 66:13). In His mercy, He has pity on us as a father pities his children who fear him (Psalm 103:13). When Hagar cried out for her son, God answered (Genesis 21:16–17).
WILL YOU BELIEVE?
Nothing is too hard for God (Jeremiah 32:17). With men it is impossible, but with God all things are possible (Matthew 19:26).
He gives power to the faint (Isaiah 40:29–31). He alone can heal inner sickness (Psalm 41:3–4).
Dear saint, there is no mountain high enough for God. He is going to remove your mountain — if you believe.
Maranatha. Praise God. Amen.
