What Does It Mean To Be Blessed?

Psalm 84:12 | LORD of hosts, Blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.

WHO IS BLESSED?

4 reasons why we are called blessed;

  • Those who trust in God (Psalms 84:12).

  • Receives strength from God (Psalms 84:5)

  • In whose heart is the way of Zion (Psalms 84:5). King David went through the gutter to capture Zion.

  • Praise without ceasing, dwelling in the house of God (Psalms 84:4).

WHAT CAN WE COMPARE THE BLESSED MAN WITH?

We who are blessed are compared with;

MOUNT ZION

(Psalms 125:1) Trusting in God, as steady as Mount Zion, forever. All who wholeheartedly trust in God will never be moved because God will keep them.

TREE BY THE RIVERSIDE

(Jeremiah 17:8) They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or long months of drought. Their leaves remain green, and they continue to produce fruit.

River represents the Holy Spirit (Psalms 65:9). An anointed person is like the tree by the waterside.

Evergreen trees always bear fruit (Psalms 1:3). Delight and meditate on God's word day and night. They are not just hearers of the word but doers.

Harlot Rahab's name is found along with faith heroes. Why? She protected Joshua's spies and hid them. She participated in Israel's battle for God's glory.

You are blessed, dear saint. Be available for God. Time is short.

Maranatha, Praise God, and Amen
